Privacy policy
This explains what Boosted Brothers Ltd records when you contact us, request or receive work, use an account, make a payment or receive service updates.
What we collect
We may record your name, business name, contact details, address and account details; vehicle information such as registration, VIN, mileage and diagnostic data; requests, appointments, messages, reports, photographs and files; and invoices, payment status and transaction references. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored in our Hub.
Why we use it
We use this information to answer enquiries, assess and arrange work, provide services, keep vehicle and visit histories, manage accounts, issue quotes and invoices, take or reconcile payments, provide service updates, protect the Hub, keep audit records, meet legal duties and resolve complaints.
We rely on steps requested before a contract and performance of a contract, legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business and keeping accurate service records. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you can withdraw it at any time.
Service messages and WhatsApp
We may send booking, progress, action, payment and completion messages by email or WhatsApp when those channels are relevant to your job or account. These are service messages, not general marketing. WhatsApp delivery, reply and status information may be recorded against the job so that important updates are not lost. We do not use this information to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share information with
We use trusted providers where needed to deliver the service, including Meta and WhatsApp for messaging, Google Cloud, Firebase and Google Workspace for hosting and administration, and Square for payment services. For work introduced or managed by a trade account, we may share the customer-facing job information with that trade account. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement or courts where required. We do not sell personal information.
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's lawful transfer arrangements and appropriate safeguards.
Account access
Customer and trade accounts only show information relevant to their job or account. Access is limited according to the type of account and the work involved.
How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the job, account history, safety, warranty, tax, accounting, legal or dispute purposes. The period depends on the record and any legal requirement. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymise it or securely restrict access.
Security
We use access controls, authenticated accounts, audit records and managed service providers to protect information. No internet service is risk-free, but we limit access to people and systems that need it.
Website and cookies
Our main website does not use advertising or audience-tracking cookies. Basic technical connection information may be processed by our hosting provider to deliver and protect the site. The vehicle performance calculator is loaded in a restricted frame from ECU Performance; opening that part of the page may share technical connection information, such as your IP address, with that provider.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy. You may also complain about how we use it. Contact cal@boostedbrothers.co.uk first so we can help. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
Changes
We may update this notice when our services or providers change. The effective date above shows the current version.
